NBA player Ronnie Price stunned the audiences Sunday night when he threw his shoe at Andrei Iguodala. It was dubbed as the most interesting and the most hilarious thing that happened that night. But will his unusual defense trick be against the rules during the NBA 2014-2015 season?

Los Angeles Lakers guard Ronnie Price was placed in the center of the spectators' attention during the NBA preseason game against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. He lost the ball and attempted to throw his shoe at Iguodala in order to stop the fast break.

Ronnie Price is a professional basketball player who had worked out for the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons after going undrafted in the 2005 NBA draft.  On August 3, 2005, he signed a guaranteed two-year contract with the Sacramento Kings. Price is the first player to enter the NBA directly from the Utah Valley University. And on Sept. 24, 2014, General Manager Mitch Kupchak announced that the Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Ronnie Price.

According to a Huffington Post report, Ronnie Price lost his right Nike Hyper Quickness shoe and turned the ball over during a failed offensive sequence.  However, he appeared to try an unusual defensive maneuver, in which he picked up his shoe and tossed it in the direction of the Warriors' Andre Iguodala, who had scooped up the loose ball and was dribbling toward the far edge of the court.

At the time of Ronnie Price's tricks during the NBA preseason game, LA Lakers was trailing Golden State 45-20 early in the second quarter, losing points from beyond the curve and in transition. The Warriors then ended the first half with 20 fast break points and led the Lakers 63-36.

Ronnie Price was trying his best to make an impression and making an effort to win in the NBA preseason game however he failed. And while the viewers enjoyed and were amused when he threw his shoe, the referees were not; his bold strategy just earned him a technical foul.

As reported by USA Today Sports, Ronnie Price, the veteran NBA guard who's kicked around several teams in the league since 2005, has paved his place in the NBA legends when he displayed his unorthodox defensive ploy during a Lakers preseason game.

Ronnie Price has been commended by Lakers head coach Byron Scott and Kobe Bryant for his defensive consciousness and tactics. But Price's trick during the preseason game was not a hit. And the incident definitely got the players' attention because the throwing of shoes or the ball at opponents will be against the rules during the NBA 2014-2015 season, as reported by the Huffington Post.
