Ariel Camacho - A famous Mexican singer Ariel Camacho has died in a car crash on Wednesday in his native Sinaloa shortly after performing in a concert.
The accident happened around 3 a.m. Camacho was in a 1004 Honda along with three other people and the driver was speeding on a curving road when he lost control and drove into a canal in the town of Los Ranchitos.
Ariel Camacho, who had just performed at the 2015 Carnival Mocorito Concert, was on the road promoting a deluxe edition of his newest album El Karma when the accident happened.
Sources say another passenger in the vehicle with Camacho was also killed. His name has been given as Sarahi Duran Martinez. Two other passengers sustained serious injuries and have been transported to the hospital.
"My heart is broken by the loss of Ariel Camacho,' said Angel Del Villar, president of the Regional Mexican label."I knew he was going to transform the genre in Mexico and the United States. Millions of people would have become fans and would have gotten to know the man I did."
Ariel Camacho was the front man of Los Plebes del Rancho, a three man band that performed in the Sierreno genre, which features acoustic guitars, bass and accordions.
Camacho and band mates Cesar Sanchez and Omar Burgos released El Karma under DEL Records and it was promoted in the U.S. by Sony. The album was a success and cumulated a large fan base - many of these fans are still stunned by the news of his death.
According to reports, this is the second time in 21 months that Camacho has been involved in a car crash. Last year he was involved in a serious accident when a car that he was a passenger in crashed into a tree.
