AT&T has a new and innovative technology that would benefit the cord cutters. With this new system, satellite dishes will no longer be needed to get the communication giant's DirectTV. In this connection, the company is launching three new streaming video choices in the fourth quarter.

The three options include DirectTV, a video streaming service that can work with all internet capable devices that the company will establish to host its app, DirectTV Mobile, a system for consumers who likes to watch videos and films on their mobiles, and DirectTV Preview, a product that will allow consumers to access DirectTV contents for free.

"We're extending a product set that will give the customer some choice and options on how they consume premium pay TV content," said John Stankey in an interview. He is the CEO of AT&T Entertainment Group.

Customers who signs on for these new services won't need satellite dishes, set-top boxes, or yearly contract to sign and pay for.

These services will be available starting on the fourth quarter of this year. The communication giant will sell cable-like TV bundles across the country via a new app. Interested customers will not need the company's wireless phones or its broadband home connection.

Similar to Netflix, the customer only has to download the app, sign up, provide his credit card number, and begin streaming his favorite TV show.

"It is an Internet-delivered service," said Stankey.

There is a wide-ranging implication for these new products from this tech giant. These new services will enable DirectTV branding without the need for a satellite dish. They will create a new type of competition in the TV industry.

However, AT&T is quick to allay the concerns of its old customers saying it will still market its satellite dish service through the new DirectTV and fiber-optic TV service through U-verse.
