A new change is underway in Chicago, as the Old Cook County hospital is anticipated to undergo redevelopment.  It stands out that the place is being transformed into a house hotel, apartments, and even stores. With that in mind, many are anticipating that jobs are on the rise in the region.

According to a report from the Chicago Tribune, "The old Cook County Hospital building has sat vacant for nearly 15 years and has become a popular target for graffiti artists, but the building could get new life as a hotel and apartment building, with stores at ground level. April 6, 2016."

It appears that the building has stayed vacant for more than 13 years. Given its historical presence in the district, it has stood by for more than 102 years. However, since no tenant has been operating in the area, it was a prominent target for graffiti taggers and metal thieves, the 102-year-old Cook County Hospital building could be in line for redevelopment that would restore some of its original Beaux Arts grandeur, according to the same post.

Nevertheless, the building is set to transform into one of the most alive building in the district. The redevelopment is set to change the whole place. It would boasts of new businesses that are forecast to arise and in turn offer jobs to those dwelling in the area.

Furthermore, a post from Curbed Chicago indicated that the historic Cook County Hospital building looks set to receive a new, mixed-use lease on life thanks to an ambitious multi-phase redevelopment plan. It is undeniable that an ambitious plan would revibrate in this place. The redevelopment of Cook County Hospital has also been anticipated to undergo 3 phases.

The first part would be to reuse the abandoned hospital building, and secondly the construction of a new research and technology center built along Wood Street at the eastern edge of the site, as noted by the same post.

With the redevelopment of the historic Cook County Hospital on the rise, an influx of investors is forecast to pool in the region and in turn raises the job opportunities even higher.
