Vin Diesel posted an old picture of Paul Walker and himself being interviewed on Instagram Saturday, writing:
"Many of the crew members who have worked on several of the past Fast films are here again to help us make something special,"
"One of them at the end of the week came up to me and said wow what we are capturing on film is excellent... And then looked at me and said Paul would be proud. #wemakethemwithourhearts."
Paul Walker passed away November 30, 2013. The fatal car accident which took the life of the young actor along with his friend Roger Rodas was a shock to the cast and crew of Furious 7 as well as fans from all over.
Production of the film had been delayed because of the tragedy. It was helped out when Paul's brothers Caleb and Cody offered themselves to double for him, avoiding the need for the entire film to be reworked in mid-production.
In any case, the film's ending was totally changed. A sentimental collection of memorable scenes from past installments paying tribute to the lost member brought audiences to tears.
"Life follows art" comes to mind when Vin Diesel, who portrays tough guy Dominic Toretto on the The Fast & The Furious franchise, voices out his sentiments on Paul Walker. The relationship he had in the series with Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, echoes and extends beyond the movie screen. The 2 had become as close as they are on the set as off it. He is the godfather to Paul's daughter "Meadow".
He and Paul were together when Vin's partner, Paloma Jimenez, gave birth to their first child. Paul had told him to join her in the delivery room and cut the umbilical. He'd remembered the moment when he'd once again joined Paloma on their third child's birth in March 16, 2015. He'd cut the umbilical and when the time came to write down his daughter's name, he'd written "Pauline".
