Harry Potter fans may be hitting the pause button on their current magical houses when they learned that there is a new school in the United States. Pottermore reveals Ilvermorny.

It is described to be hidden in the deep forests of Mount Greylock. Based in Massachusetts, it is explained to be the equivalent of Hogwarts. The Ilvermorny is rich in the North American wizardry and magic.

According to USA Today, Pottermore tweeted out about Ilvermorny. Author J.K Rowling once again made a leap in her career by expanding the Potter universe. In her latest Pottermore entry, Rowling talks about the mysterious and magical American school. Its history is steeped in vengeance and bloodshed. She goes on to explain that the school was founded by Isolt Sayre. She was an Irish orphan girl who descended from Salazar Slytherin. She fled on the Mayflower with an evil aunt. According to Rowling, Ilvermorny is said to be " the most democratic, least elitist of all the great wizarding schools," thanks to its co-founding by a No-Maj, Isolt's husband.

Now, Potter fans can be sorted in their respective houses in the United States. Ilvermorny has four houses, similar to that of Hogwarts. Pottermore fans can be sorted into the "Horned Sperpent," a 'great horned river serpent with a jewel set into its forehead', the "Pukwudgie;" 'a short, grey-faced, large-eared creature', the "Thunderbird;" a creature that 'can create storms as it flies', and the "Wampus"; 'a magical, panther-like creature that is fast, strong and almost impossible to kill'.

Each creature represents a part of the wizarding and witching world. For example, the mind is represented by the Horned Serpent; the body, Wampus; the heart, Pukwudgie and the soul, Thunderbird.

According to the Pottermore series, the Horned Serpent favors the scholars. While the Wampus chooses warriors. The Pukwudgie takes in healers and the Thunderbird loves adventurers.

Ilvermorny will be featured in the upcoming movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," which is scheduled to hit theaters on November 18.
