Nintendo announces its newest game console called the Nintendo Switch on Thursday morning. The said game console is expected to be completely out and available in March 2017.

Originally called the Nintendo NX, Nintendo Switch is intended to satisfy the gaming need of both travel and home. It is designed to be a hybrid for both handheld and home consoles making it enjoyable on the road while on the go or right at the comfort of your home.

Nintendo Switch comes with the Nintendo Switch Dock making it easy for home console functions that users can play on their TV sets. It also comes with the combination of Joy-Con controllers and Joy-Con Grip that allows users to build their own controller. The said controllers are detachable to make it more accessible for handheld functions.

Nintendo Switch will be featuring games such as "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Just Dance 2017," "Dragon Quest X," "Dragon Quest XI," "Super Mario," "Super Mario 64" and "Super Mario Galaxy" series, The Business Insider reported.

Satoru Iwata, the late Nintendo president gave a glimpse about the Nintendo NX on March 2015 during an investor presentation. He said that Nintendo remains committed to the game system business and as a proof he confirmed that the company is in for a brand new concept game platform.

Iwata, however, did not yet give any details on what he called the Nintendo NX then for it was too early to elaborate yet promised to give the details on the following year. One thing he made sure, they will be formulating a platform that would be friendly to people from all walks of life around the world as possible.

Iwata highlighted then that as handheld devices are gaining popularity among people in Nintendo's homeland, the new game console will feature something that will probably bridge the gap between handheld systems and home consoles, according to The Polygon.
