"Pokemon Generations" is gearing for its finale on Friday, Dec. 23. As the series prepare for its final 3 episodes, fans cannot help but wonder whether they will see more of the YouTube anime in the next year.

"Pokemon Generations" premiered in YouTube on Sept. 16 and has since gained more than 17,000 views in each of its first 15 episodes uploaded on PixelPlanet. The series consists of 18 episodes called "shorts," aptly named as each video spans from three to six minutes only.

When "The Pokemon Company" announced the launch of this series inspired by Ninendo's Pokemon video game, fans were initially thrilled at the prospect, as reported by GameNGuide. Their excitement was short-lived, however, when they discovered that the clips were short and spoilers were difficult to come by. GameNGuide quotes a fan, "The idea is cool and all but the execution is poor."

On the other hand, some other fans gave rave reviews for the web series, as they believed it provided a good back story for the video games they know and love. They also think that "The Pokemon Company" stayed true to their premise of "diving into the stories of the games more deeply and getting to know characters and Pokémon better."

No official announcements have been released yet on whether "Pokemon Generations" will get renewed for a second season. The number of views as well as the fans' reception will definitely play a role in influencing the company's direction with this series.

At present, "The Pokemon Company" along with its partner establishment "Niantic Labs", are reportedly gearing up for their big Christmas event for their hit reality game "Pokemon Go." As reported by Jobs & Hire, huge updates are in store for players, such as a hundred "Gen 2" Gold and Silver Pokemon, more spawn for selected Pokemon such as Staryu and Snorlax, and an all-new Pokemon tracker that will notify gamers of latest events.
