'Pokemon Go’ Christmas Event Spoilers; Expect ‘Baby Pikachu’, Legendary Birds And New ‘Gen 2’ Pokemon

"Pokemon Go" parent company Niantic Labs is rumored to unveil a huge update for its hit augmented reality game come December. Like its previous holiday-themed events, the company is expected to offer in-game bonuses and new Pokemon to players for its Christmas event.

Insiders reveal via Gamenguide that the upcoming "Pokemon Go" event in December would resemble that of Thanksgiving and Halloween. During these two recently concluded holiday events, players were treated to a surprise treat: double XP and an abundance of Stardust.

For Christmas, it is expected that a hundred "Gen 2" Gold/Silver Pokemon such as Baby Pikachu, Pichu, Espeon, Umbreon, Slowking and Blissey will finally make their debut appearance. The event also looks to bring more spawn to selected Pokemon including Snorlax, Staryu, Starme, Seel, Dewgong, Clefairy, and Clefable. Snorlax's inclusion will definitely excite avid fans and players as this Pokemon is one of the toughest to come across in the game.

An article from Slashgear offers unsolicited advice to the most avid "Pokemon Go" players: start hoarding Pidgey, the tiny bird Pokemon. Pidgey is reportedly considered to be the most effective source of XP in the entire "Pokemon Go" universe.

The December update might also feature the release of the legendary Pokemon like Zapdos, Articuno and Motres. In addition, the game might feature player vs. player battles and a more accurate Pokemon tracker - a trading system will inform players about latest notifications and events.

The hype around "Pokemon Go" has died down since it was first released back in July. Jobs & Hire has previously reported that sales for the its latest offering, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" had flopped after a mere three weeks. Though Niantic Labs has kept tight-lipped about the specifics of their Christmas event, they are reportedly hopeful that this holiday event will boost sales and woo back its "Pokemon Go" players.
