Expectation levels are firmly hold on the upsurge of approching Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant", the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with "Prometheus"

It's seems like the production has been incessantly tracked by question after question from that first time Scott's announced his follow up to 2012's Prometheus movie. Still, Scott's is non itinerant person from recurring questions about his work - one need only consider the massive amount of debate that followed in the wake of Prometheus for proof.

It would be fair to say that Ridley Scott do well on the mysterious, strange or downright unexpected aspects of his work on Alien: Covenant, indeed. As the matter of fact, many clues and even statements we've been given regarding what will or will not be in the upcoming sci-fi/horror film and yet for some reason, for a film that shows in less than six months time, it still has sense to many that the entire project is one large-scale puzzle. Even the casting continues to surprise fans.

Courtesy of Alien vs. Predator Galaxy, the latest casting news reportedly, and confirms that James Franco will be joining the crew of the Covenant. Franco's role will be the captain of the Covenant, Branson, and husband to Daniels (Katherine Waterston). His scene is a going to be a short one, appearing mainly in the first ten minutes of the beginning of the show, with some minor scenes later on the end as well. Franco has always been known for the numerous projects he typically has on the go, surrounded by writing, directing and acting, but a spot in Alien: Covenant is sure to surprise some.

Assuming that Scott is pushing to add cast members to Alien: Covenant that hardly anyone could ever imagined - let solely portrayed in an Alien film, he's doing an excellent job then. The Alien fans surprised by the decision to cast comedic actor and Franco buddy Danny McBride when it was announced earlier this year. However, McBride's assurance that Covenant contains "no comic relief" allowed for a collective sigh of relief from many. Somewhat surprising addition to Covenant though, James Franco's acting career is full of different roles to date in an expansive variety of genres. Many will even recall that Franco was being sternly considered for the lead in Shane Black's "The Predator" - a role he eventually turned down, earlier this year.

Franco and McBride, always be entertaining to see if share any screen time. Its just might seem a little strange watching them both in serious roles together. The said actors battled the forces of an otherworldly evil together back in 2013's "This Is The End", but of course, an absolutely spot in the Alien franchise is a different pattern. Also, by this point in Ridley Scott's career, it's safe to say that he understands more the importance of casting. Hopefully the audiences will see in May 2017, what Scott sees in Franco.

Covenant press event as well as confirmation that "Alien: Covenant" is indeed getting back to its originally horror trend, come out to be shaping up thoroughly nice for this fifth installment. There's much time left for Ridley Scott to drive our way a few more maneuver that we might see, for still several months to go before the film arrives in theaters.
