Donald Trump To Be Laid Off In ‘South Park’ Season 21: Creators Can’t Keep Up

In Season 21 of "South Park," viewers would no longer see Mr. Garrison (aka Donald Trump), as the show's creators decided to back off from satirizing the president.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker, who have been making the satirizer "South Park" for many years now, are laying off Mr. Garrison in the upcoming season of the show. In an interview with ABC News, Stone and Parker explained that the jokes they are putting into the show are becoming a reality, in which reality becomes more ridiculous, Newsweek reported.
"It's really hard to make fun of and in the last season of South Park, which just ended a month-and-a-half ago, we were really trying to make fun of what was going on but we couldn't keep up and what was actually happening was much funnier than anything we could come up with," said Parker. "So we decided to kind of back off and let them do their comedy and we'll do ours."
Stone and Parker said it has become difficult to exaggerate Trump because his ridiculousness in real life is already extreme, so the comedy kind of falls flat. "People say to us all the time you know like, 'Oh, you guys are getting all this good material,' like we're happy about some of the stuff that's happening," said Stone. "But I don't know if that's true. It doesn't feel that way."
"South Park" often features current events and pop culture. In season 20, the show featured the U.S. elections, which projected Hillary Clinton as the winner. The show was also able to satirize quite effectively the battle between the two presidential bets, said The Blaze.
Meanwhile, based on how "South Park" Season 20 turned out, viewers could expect the next season to be back to non-serial structure. "South Park" Season 21 is expected to premiere in September, following the pattern of the previous seasons.
