Uber is facing deeper turmoil as its president, Jeff Jones, is quitting. Jones quit less than seven months after joining the ride service company. It looks like the company’s scandals and controversies are just way too much to handle for Jones.

According to Recode, Jones confirmed his departure and gave an assessment of the company. In his statement, Jones said, “It is now clear, however, that the beliefs and approach to leadership that have guided my career are inconsistent with what I saw and experienced at Uber, and I can no longer continue as president of the ride-sharing business.”

Jones also pointed out in his statement that he joined Uber because of its mission. Aside from that, he also mentioned about the challenge to build global capabilities to help the company mature and thrive longer.

Jones’ role in the company was also put into question because Uber CEO Travis Kalanick launched a search for a Chief Operating Officer, as reported by Reuters. Jones’ had been performing the COO responsibilities. And this was said to be one of the reasons why he decided to quit the company. However, the executive’s decision was directly based from the company’s controversies, which include charges of sexism and sexual harassment.

Kalanick was in search for a COO in order to help him solve the problems of the company and do a better job. That decision showed that Kalanick was bringing in a new executive that would outrank Jones.

In Kalanick’s note to his staff, he explained that after the company announced their intention to hire a COO, Jones’ came with the tough decision that he no longer sees his future at Uber.

“It is unfortunate that this was announced through the press but I thought it was important to send all of you an email before providing comment publicly,” said Kalanick.

Uber already confirmed Jones’ departure and issued a statement. “We want to thank Jeff for his six months at the company and wish him all the best.”

Meanwhile, Jobs & Hire reported about Kalanick’s heated argument with an Uber driver was caught on video, the CEO apologized for his behavior. He admitted his mistakes and said that he needs to grow up.
