‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Angel FIRST LOOK: 3 Need-To-Know Facts About Ben Hardy’s ‘X-Men’ Journey As He Takes The Role Of Angel In The Upcoming Sequel

As the excitement for "X-Men: Apocalypse" became too palpable for Marvel Comics fans, one character recently stood out that piqued the fans' curiosity and it's Ben Hardy's Angel. In the latest batch of on set photos, fans were given a sneak peek at Angel and the film's new costumes.

In the new set of Instagram photos, "X-Men: Apocalypse" director Bryan Singer teased fans with images taken from the set of the movie, which included a first look into Ben Hardy's character, Angel, spending some time in a Berlin fight club in the '80s, IGN noted.

As a cadre of powerful mutants gather to beat the formidable enemy, Apocalypse, who threatens humanity's existence in "X-Men: Apocalypse," here are 3 need-to-know facts about Ben Hardy's journey as he takes the role of Angel in the upcoming sequel.

1. Since Angel spends much of the film as one of Apocalypse's horsemen, Hardy went from being a calm person to being angry and spends time in the fight club. And hinting about Angel's early mindset, Hardy said his character is like "every angry or bitter thought I've ever had embodied in one person," Slash Film revealed.

2. Ben Hardy has been known to be popular with girls and as he showed off his incredible physique in "X-Men: Apocalypse" as Angel, the topless winged mutant will surely drive his lady fans crazy. But his Angel journey wasn't easy for the 24-year-old Brit actor. In fact, it took him months of auditions for him to join the stellar "X-Men" cast, Ok! Magazine has learned.

3. Ben Hardy ditches his "EastEnders" stint to join the cast of "X-Men: Apocalypse." Though he will be on the bad side of things and will be dressed in a metallic suit with wings made out of daggers, he will definitely bring more interesting twists in the upcoming sequel.

Meanwhile, aside from Ben Hardy, "X-Men: Apocalypse," will also feature an ensemble cast including James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), Olivia Munn (Psylocke), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Lucas Till (Havok), Josh Helman (William Stryker) and Lana Condor (Jubilee).

Watch out as "X-Men: Apocalypse" delivers a "mass destruction" on May 27, 2016, as it premieres in theaters nationwide.
