Justin Bieber dissing One Direction started an unexpected chain of events. Naturally, fans of both popular figures in the music industry defended their favorites through social media. Both the pop singer and the boy band have the most enthusiastic fandoms. Now, the Beliebers vs Directioners Twitter war has started.

Selena Gomez’s ex-boyfriend and the Brits — Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne will both be dropping on Nov. 13 their respective brand new albums. According to Hollywood Life, One Direction’s fandom got mad that Justin Bieber’s Snapchat post suggested that the boys behind the “Drag Me Down” hit should be scared of being seized in his shadow. The boys of One Direction themselves took Justin Bieber’s posted video lightly. Sadly, the Directioners did not.

A fan of Justin Bieber called out Directioners to “wake up” and recognize that the Biebs’ album will climb to the number 1 spot when released. Directioners fought back, making a stand that they will never leave the band and said that Justin should not believe that 1D is “afraid.”

By way of Snapchat, on Tuesday, Justin Bieber took a video of himself saying: “The face you make when you come out with an album the same day as Justin Bieber,” before making a petrified look. One Direction will be his most high-profile contender releasing an album on the same day as his.

Gossip Cop revealed this was not the first time the “As Long As You Love Me” hitmaker has playfully mocked One Direction. He feigned shock and outrage when Zayn Malik left the band back in March and pretended to be devastated in front of an audience of photographers and fans when he heard of Malik’s departure.
