Nate Robinson found a new home team again, as he was reported to have signed with the New Orleans Pelicans on a one-year deal.
According to CBS Sports, the NBA Journeyman added one more team to his list. Fans of the player may recall that he last played for the Clippers before being quickly traded off. Before his injury and eventual trade, he was a rather productive contributor to the team.
He started last season with the Denver Nuggets, averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 assists before being let go and signing with the Clippers with a 10-day contract, in which he averaged 5.1 points in nine games.
Fortunately, he found the Pelicans or rather, the Pelicans found him as they are in need of a point guard as starter Jrue Holiday is currently on restricted minutes due to an injury. And in a related report by Sports Illustrated, the Pelicans back-up point guard Norris Cole is also out for at least six weeks due to a high ankle sprain.
Robinson was noted to be athletic and can get it going in just moments. He was also praised for his toughness and willingness to play defense. He was expected to join the team's practice this Friday.
According to Fan Sided, prior to signing the feisty guard, the Pelicans were equipped with three point guards: Jrue Holiday, Norris Cole and Bo McCalebb, who also just recently reached an agreement with the team.
Although competition will be tough to secure his position with the team, Robinson may have an increased chance due to Holiday and Cole's injuries.
However, he also has an obvious size advantage that even though he is a willing defender, his height could be an inconvenient factor to his defense.
Robinson was drafted 21st overall in the 2005 NBA Draft, and he has played for the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, and Los Angeles Clippers over the course of 10 NBA seasons.
