Watch Sony's PlayStation E3 2016 Show For Free In Select Theaters!

Sony's PlayStation E3 2016 show will be live in selected theaters in North America next month. The company made the announcement on Monday.

GameSpot reported that the company is bringing back its "PlayStation E3 Experience" event. This is when fans in North America can watch the Sony PlayStation E3 2016 show live in a movie theater.

The Sony PlayStation E3 2016 show will be shown live in more than 85 theaters throughout the U.S., Canada and Latin America. It will broadcast the event as part of the company's partnership with Fathom Events.

"In 2014, we had this crazy idea to partner with Fathom Events and broadcast our E3 Press Conference LIVE to some theaters North America, not knowing if this was something people would even be interested in attending," Sony wrote on the PlayStation blog. "Two years later, and we've had to more than double our seating capacity to accommodate everybody!"

Moreover, aside from being able to watch an HD simulcast of the Sony PlayStation E3 2016 show, fans will also receive special PlayStation goodies. This includes a Coca-Cola E3 Experience Cup and #37 from the PlayStation Collectible Card series, which first debuted at PlayStation Experience 2015.

Sony also teased about the digital gift basket in store for viewers but did not reveal the contents. Tickets are free and will be available at PlayStation.com/E3Experience on Tuesday, May 31 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.

Those who are not able to get tickets for a particular location will be placed on the waitlist. The full list of theaters is found in the blog post.

The Sony PlayStation E3 2016 show will also be broadcasted in Latin American theaters, details to come soon on PlayStation.Blog Latin America. The event will start on Monday, Jun. 13 at 6 p.m. PT, 9 p.m. ET.

"There's just something special about watching the news and excitement of E3 together with fellow PlayStation fans that makes this an event I look forward to every year," the company added. "Between the loud cheers that, honestly, probably ruin movies for people in adjacent theaters (sorry not sorry), and the camaraderie felt in the air from being surrounded by the PlayStation Nation, there's no better way to experience E3."
