'Winds of Winter' Release Date Final: Author George RR Martin Finishing Book

"Game of Thrones" season 6 is already nearing its last episode in the HBO network and author George R.R. Martin is still not finished with his last book titled "Winds of Winter."

It was supposedly planned that the book will always be ahead of the HBO Television series. But because GRRM has had some stumbles or writer's block, he was not able to get the book out in time. So the GOT show runners had to create their own plots while staying true to the essence of GRRM's plans for the final book.

In previous reports, Christian Daily has it that the book was scheduled to be delayed in publication by 2017 but now, recent reports have indicated that the author is already on his final chapter. The release date could be pulled back early to the end of 2016. According to The Bitbag, GRRM is almost finished with "Winds of Winter." He has had some proof reading done on the sixth book.

It may as well look like December 2016 could be the target release date for the last book to the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. By then, "Game of Thrones" season 6 have already concluded which means fans will try to compare what is and what is not in the book. The author has assured fans that the television series will not spoil anything from the novel - but that doesn't stop loyal fans from checking.

He went on to say that there will be some events and deaths that will happen in the series that will not necessarily be featured in the book and vice versa.

The official release date of "Winds of Winter" has not yet been revealed but fans are hoping that it will be in time for the holiday season, this coming December 2016.
