'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Latest News & Update: How Glenn's Death Could Transform The Characters Of Rick And Maggie

In the opening episode of "The Walking Dead season 7", fans weren't expecting Glenn's death as he is a fan-favorite in the series. But with his death, it would definitely kickstart the season and we could see how it could affect Maggie and Rick as the season progresses.

The first episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7 showed Negan brutally murdering two of Rick's friends and the two unfortunate souls were Abraham and Glenn. Negan swung Lucy, his bat, and hit Glenn's head so hard that his eyes popped out. Before Negan was about to strike another hit to finish him off, Glenn turned to Maggie and said, "Maggie, I'll find you." Those words put tears to Maggie's eyes as she witnesses Negan hitting her lover to death.

Glenn's death would definitely have major effects on both Maggie and Rick as they are the characters who have close relationships with Glenn. Maggie was introduced in the second season of the series and eventually developed a romantic relationship with Glenn. On the other hand, Rick and Glenn became close friends in the first season of "The Walking Dead".

According to Vanity Fair, Glenn's death would have a big impact on Maggie's character but it wouldn't revolve around her romantically mourning over him. Maggie threatened Negan's life for killing her lover and it just shows how "The Walking Dead" season 7 would progress with her having a desire for revenge.

Rick had a close relationship with Glenn because he could have been eaten by walkers if it weren't for Glenn saving him in first season of "The Walking Dead". The death would really affect Rick a lot because he is a character who takes responsibilities seriously according to Metro. Also, Rick is not really the best when it comes to coping with loss or death so fans will see how Rick's character will never be the same again as the season goes.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 is full of surprises and fans should definitely watch out. Who knows? Maybe Daryl could die next.
