'The 100' Season 4 Air Date, Cast & Updates: The CW Announces Release Date; Lexa Exits Show

There is both good news and bad news for the fans of The CW's "The 100." Good news is that the network has announced an official premiere date for the series. However, fans are to lose a favorite character, Lexa.

The CW has already confirmed their midseason schedule for next year and it includes popular titles such as "iZombie" and "The 100." The post-apocalyptic survival drama series will be back on The CW on February 1, 2017. That means fans will only have to endure a three more months without the popular series. Although the wait for the show's premiere is quite bearable, there is dire news for fans of Alycia Debnam-Carey's character, Lexa.

According to Game N Guide, the commander of the 12 Clans will no longer be back for the show's fourth season. Definitely a bummer for the fans of this headstrong leader. Apparently, Lexa is the glue that united the twelve clans against Mount Weather, during that arc she earned the love and respect of the show's viewers.

"The 100" Season 3 finale ended with Lexa's death, which was a rather controversial death, to say the least. When a popular character dies in a season finale, it can't be helped that fans will cling to the hope the character might have miraculously survived. However, creator Jason Rothenberg would not have fans clinging to false hope as he slammed any possibility of Lexa's survival. Rothenberg has set the fact in stone and told fans that Lexa was gone for good, and she isn't coming back for Season 4.

Moreover, it can be recalled that Lexa's death triggered an LGBTQ protest. They have expressed their concerns regarding gay characters being killed off more often than straight characters. Well, Alycia's fans shouldn't be too worried, the actress is reportedly doing fine since she was recast for another show. According to Crave Online, the actress who plays Lexa will be returning to the set of AMC's "Fear The Walking Dead."

While Lexa is definitely gone, as she is confirmed to be very dead, fans have another pickle to deal with regard to the upcoming season of "The 100." Apparently, Octavia may be pregnant, as rumors suggest. Will fans see a pregnant lady striving for revenge in "The 100" Season 4? Stay tuned to Jobs & Hire for more updates!
