The release of "Battlefield 1" rocked the world. It became an instant phenomenon and gamers are awestruck to the outstanding gameplay and graphics of the first person shooting game. With the current success of the game, it will be common sense to make a sequel to continue on with the wave created by the first game. However, EA is not hasting the process.

Electronic Arts announced at the Nasdaq 35th Investor Program that they will not be making another "Battle Field" game in the near future. Instead, they will be focusing more on a different franchise which is the Star Wars Battlefront.

"EA won't have another Battlefield back for a couple of years," said CFO Blake Jorgensen. "Next year we'll have Battlefront, the Star Wars game."

The new "Star Wars" game will be focusing on the newly released movies. EA claims that the new game will have a massive impact and excitement factor that the previous installments. At the same time, the older game will also have a DLC titled Rogue One: Scarif on December 6 that is also based on the new movies. "Next year we'll have the opportunity to leverage more of that content from the new movies and we think that'll make the opportunity much larger," Jorgensen said.

EA is planning on improving the current state of the game first before releasing a new sequel to "Battlefield 1". They want to address the issues of the current game to gave them more insight into making the sequel.

"It's a beautiful game, people loved it. I think if there was a criticism it was that they just wanted more," said Jorgensen. "And so we're taking that criticism to heart as we build the next game and trying to address any of the issues that they had."

On other news, "Battlefield 1" will have a new custom game that is set to launch this week that will be called "Line of Sight." The game will be a spin of the Rush mode, which gamers can only take part as Scout or Medic classes.
