'Dragon Ball Super' 69 Review, 70 Spoilers: The Anime Adopted To The Wackiness Of Dr. Slump, Yamcha Makes An Appearance?

"Dragon Ball Super" again took another break from its storyline and all the serious fighting with episode 69, as the series crossed over with "Dr. Slump," a manga series written by Akira Toriyama as well, and adopted the wackiness of the manga. Plus in episode 70 Yamcha finally makes his appearance.

The "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 69 had Senbei Norimaki of "Dr. Slump" attending an awarding ceremony where he won the award for best invention. But was interrupted by Dr. Mashirito, Norimaki's rival and who is already a ghost (Norimaki even pointed this out, taking out a manga of "Dr. Slump"), together with Arale and Gatchan, an angel who is very different from Whis and Vados.

According to Otakukart, the characters of "Dr. Slump," like Arale are gag characters, which would defy a lot of the Dragon Ball logic. One scene in episode 69 saw Arale break the Earth in half with one punch, but it didn't destroy the planet. It only left a crack.

Arale is also seen to defeat Vegeta in hand-to-hand combat, though in a hilarious way, and was even seen to be even stronger than Super Saiyan Blue Son Goku when they fought. The day, though, was saved when Beerus appeared and destroyed Dr. Mashirito without even saying anything.

Whis said that Beerus has the power to destroy anything, even ghosts. He was about to destroy Arale as well when the most delicious food conjured up by the Reality Machine Number 2 seemed to have an effect on the God of Destruction's stomach. The episode ended with Arale, Gatchan and Norimaki leaving the destroyed venue of the awarding ceremony and Goku and the others saying goodbye to them.

Vegeta, by the way, was seen hanging from a branch that is also hanging on a cliff, saying that he will never fight a gag character again. The next episode of "Dragon Ball Super" continues with its comic relief episodes, with a baseball match between Champa and his Universe 6 team against Beerus Universe 7 team, where Yamcha makes his first appearance in a while.

It can be noted that there was a period in Dragon Ball Z where Yamcha retired from fighting and played baseball for the Taitans. Will he finally have a primary role? Fans will find out when "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 70 airs.
