Android 7.1.1 Nougat Available Soon for Selected Smartphone Models!

Are you among the few that have Android 7.0 or 7.1? The newest update for the latest version of Android operating system, the 7.1.1, has been released. According to a report that first appeared on the Androguider website, the version was out of beta and Google began rolling out the stable version to Android One users.

According to GSM Arena, the 7.1.1 update brings stability and bug fixes, as well as the December security patch. As the update and the security patch are out now, it is expected that Google will announce the official rollout of 7.1.1 anytime soon. That also means that other devices with Android 7.1 version will receive their respective updates in the coming days.

The Android 7.0 - 7.1 (called Nougat) first rolled out as an official release on August 22, 2016. However, it is noticeable that only a few phone models carry the Nougat version. It was first made available on phone models LG V20, Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C, and General Mobile 4G. These phone models are expected to first receive the 7.1.1 update. If you have a phone with any of these models, you better keep an eye on your settings and start checking for updates now. The update is 240. 6 MB in size and has a build number NMF26F.

Android Nougat is the first to introduce a split-screen display mode for phones. The split screen allows two apps to run at the same time and occupy two halves of the screen. This makes the version highly suitable for big-screen phones and tablet computers. There are also interesting design changes, notably the notification shade. The shade now features rows of smaller settings icons, and the notification cards have been replaced with a sheet design. Phones with Nougat version have another interesting feature in which the notifications from a single app can be 'bundled.'
