NBA Rumors, News & Update: Carmelo Anthony And Phil Jackson Feud Tearing New York Knicks Apart?

It looks like trouble may be brewing in the Big Apple. This comes after New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony took to Instagram to subtly air out his grievances against Knicks president Phil Jackson.

Anthony uploaded a photo of him on Dec. 8 smiling at something off-camera, but it was the caption that caught people's attention: "EGO is the only requirement to destroy any relationship. So, be a BiGGER person, skip the "E" and let it "GO" #StayMe7o" Anthony confirmed the next day that these comments are about his ex-coach - and present boss - Phil Jackson.

The post was a retaliation against Jackson for comments he made during CBS Sports Network's "We Need To Talk" earlier in the week. When asked how Anthony fits in the triangle offense, the legendary coach mused that his superstar can assume roles that Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant played; the only hitch in the plan was that "Anthony wants to hold the ball" far too long.

Jackson went on to praise his star player, but the damage has already been done: Anthony referred to the president's statements as a "black cloud" hanging over the team. Speaking with New York media before their game with Sacramento on Dec. 9, Anthony says the Knicks does not benefit from the negativity, especially coming from someone who's supposed to be rooting for them. He adds that the most important thing is, "at the end of the day, they are playing good basketball."

The NY Daily News reports that the two met on Saturday, Dec. 10 before the team practice to hash out their differences. Though the meeting was short, Anthony claims they reached an understanding: Jackson can give less-than-stellar comments to the press, but he needs to choose his words more carefully, especially when talking about Anthony.

This is not the first time that Phil Jackson got in hot water over interviews. Earlier in November, he referred to Lebron James's business associates as "posse", which prompted the MVP to declare that he had lost all respect for the coach. As per Jobs & Hire, these comments sparked rumors that Anthony might move camp and join James - a long-time friend of Anthony's - in Cleveland.
