Ellen DeGeneres is known for her popular TV talk show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that started in the year 2003. Aside from being a host, she is also a comedian, actress, writer, and producer. During the year 1994 to 1998 DeGeneres actually was casted in the popular sitcom "Ellen" followed by "The Ellen Show" from 2001 to 2002. During the fourth season of "Ellen" back from the year 1997, she admitted that she is a lesbian during her appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show". This confession made her the first ever female to play an openly lesbian character in movies and television.
During the same year, she came out as a lesbian DeGeneres started a romantic relationship with actress Anne Heche that lasted until August 2000. She also maintained a close relationship with actress, director, photographer Alexandra Hedison that lasted for four years. Since 2004, DeGeneres hopefully had a long-time relationship with Portia de Rossi and they got married after the legalization of same-sex marriage in California. DeGeneres and de Rossi were engaged and married on August 16, 2008, at their home in California. On the other hand de Rossi legally changed her name into Portia Lee James DeGeneres.
However, despite the happy relationship of the DeGeneres couple, speculations on their divorce are making its wave in the media and in the showbiz world. According to GamenGuide, the Emmy Award-winning host revealed that she is very lucky to be married to Portia. She even took to Instagram during the Thanksgiving Day that she is very thankful to have her wife.
There are claims that the couple is always fighting because Ellen is rumored to have a difficulty in controlling her drinking problem. Reports also revealed that Portia wants to start a family but then Ellen seems to disagree. It is most likely that this issue is the biggest challenge they are going to face as a couple. Regardless of the issues being thrown to them, they remain strong and faithful and still proving that they will have a road to forever.
DailyMail reported that Ellen was able to get a two-week off from her show during the holidays and they are planning together with her wife, to spend the vacation in Australia. Portia also added that starting a family is not an easy thing and requires a mature choice and should not be taken lightly.
