Manny Pacquiao Next Fight News: Freddie Roach Says Pacquiao Won’t Waste Time Waiting for Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Manny Pacquiao is still open to facing Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a super fight, but trainer Freddie Roach that he will not allow the Filipino boxing icon to waste time waiting for the pound-for-pound king to accept the showdown.

Roach said in an interview that they can't afford to waste time waiting for Mayweather to finally accept the fight with Pacquiao, saying that they have done all necessary things to convince Floyd, but to no avail.

"We can't waste our time waiting for him," Roach said via ESPN UK. "We've done everything we could to make that fight happen. It's like, we're available if he's interested in it, but again we can't sit around waiting for him."

Fight fans have been calling for both fighters to settle their respective egos and agree to face each other in a blockbuster fight that is expected to break all boxing records.

Pacquiao has been saying over the past several months that he wants to face Mayweather, but the unbeaten champion is remaining firm on his stance that he is not interested in a fight against "Pacman."

The former pound-for-pound king said that they have already gave into Mayweather's previous demands such as undergoing random blood testing, but Pacquiao's camp insisted that the Grand Rapids, Michigan native has been making excuses to dodge Pacquiao.

Mayweather, who is scheduled to face Marcos Maidana in a rematch on September 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, recently said that he won't face Pacquiao as long as he is under Top Rank Promotions, reiterating that he is not interested in doing business with Bob Arum again.

"The possibility to fight with him, you know, the question is not for us," Pacquiao said. "It's for them because any time we are willing to fight, any time. I think that question belongs to them, their camp."

Showtime boxing holds right for Mayweather's fight, while HBO carries Pacquiao's fight. Arum said that the respective TV deals of both boxing superstars won't be a hindrance, because HBO and Showtime are willing to work things out.

"With Showtime and HBO wanting the fight and Manny wanting the fight, there is one little step to take and that's to see where Floyd stands," Arum said.
