FIBA World Cup 2014 Results, Scores, Schedule & Highlights: USA Dominates New Zealand; Australia Stuns Lithuania

Team USA cruised to their third-straight win in day 4 of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup on Tuesday in Spain.

The Americans, who are the heavy favorites to win the tournament this year, scored a dominating 98-71 win against New Zealand at the Bizkaia Arena in Bilbao, Spain.

Anthony Davis powered Team USA to the win as he finished with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Kenneth Faried also provided a huge lift with his 15 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field to go along with 11 rebounds.

James Harden added 13 points and four assists, while the Golden State Warriors duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson added 12 points apiece for Team USA, who took control of the match right from the opening period.

"It was a good, solid performance," USA coach Mike Krzyzewski said after the game via ESPN. "I thought the intensity was excellent."

BJ Anthony paced New Zealand with 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field, while veteran Casey Frank finished with just six points on 3-for-9 shooting from the field.

The Tall Blacks dropped their third-straight game, but Frank said that they will look at the positive things that they did against the Americans in the hope of winning in their last two games.

"It was pretty awesome getting to play against these guys. These are guys that we watch on TV all the time," Frank said. "To be able to get out there on the court against them and have a little bit of success offensively, obviously the result didn't go our way, was pretty awesome."

New Zealand will look to bounce back against Ukraine, while USA will go for their fourth win in as many games when they take on Dominican Republic on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Australia notched their second win of the tournament with an impressive 82-75 win against European powerhouse Lithuania in their Group D showdown on Tuesday.

Joe Ingles had an outstanding night as he finished with 18 points to go along with four assists and three steals, while Aron Baynes and Matthew Dellavedova added 14 and 13 points, respectively, for the Boomers, who moved to second place in the Group D with their 2-1 record.
