Nude photos of celebrities leaked on Reddit once again, including photos of Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lawrence, who were both involved in a similar controversy earlier this month.
TMZ reported during the weekend that a new batch of nude photos showing Kardashian and Lawrence along with several celebrities like Vannesa Hudgens and soccer star Hope Solo were posted again on 4chan and Reddit.
Both websites immediately took down the photos due to privacy issues, but Reddit confirmed that despite their efforts to control the latest leakage, several users are continuously uploading it on their website.
"It quickly devolved into a game of whack-a-mole," Reddit said in a statement via National Post. "We'd execute a take-down, someone would adjust, re-upload, and then repeat."
Reddit confirmed that they got tons of hits after the photos were leaked on their website, but the website owners said that it is not something that they can be proud of.
"When the photos went out, they inevitably got linked to on Reddit," Reddit said in a statement. "As more people became aware of them, we started getting a huge amount of traffic. We hit new traffic milestones, ones which I'd be ashamed to share publicly."
Daisy Buchanan of The Telegraph criticized the uploader of the nude photos, particularly naked pictures of Kim Kardashian. While Kardashian has been involved in similar or more controversial incidents before, Buchanan said that the popular model doesn't deserve the kind of treatment she is getting.
"The fact that Kim chooses to reveal her body so often should make this argument clearer, not more confusing," Buchanan said. "When Kim wants to do it, it's her choice. When she doesn't want to do it -- yet someone does it for her, without her permission, or consent -- it's invasive and distressing."
Nude photos of Kardashian also went viral online several years back, including a sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J that was leaked to the public in 2007. Kardashian recently admitted that she is having a good sex life with her partner Kanye West, but she said in a recent interview that she doesn't want to experience the same humiliation again.
"My husband Kanye and I have an amazing sex life," Kardashian said via Fox News. "So far as the sex tape is concerned, whether or not we've made another. If we have, it's never something I want to go public."
