Los Angeles Lakers Roster, News & Rumors: Jeremy Lin Could Miss Preseason Match Against Golden State Warriors

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin could miss their preseason match against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday after sustaining an ankle injury in practice.

Lakers coach Byron Scott confirmed to ESPN that Lin sprained his left ankle, which makes him doubtful against the Warriors on Sunday depending on the results of the re-evaluation before the game.

"I think Robert Sacre stepped on his ankle when they were playing five-on-five," Scott said of Lin after Saturday's practice. "He turned it a little bit that way so we'll see how he feels tomorrow. He was in a little pain. He got up and kind of walked out on his own but he was in a little pain."

Lin, who is playing in his first season with the Lakers after getting traded from the Houston Rockets, has been impressive in their first two preseason matches.

The 26-year-old point guard only scored one point, but dished out 10 assists during their 98-95 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday. He then tallied 14 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists against the Warriors on Thursday.

Scott said that he wants Lin to play on Sunday as they are still looking to build team chemistry heading into the 2014-15 NBA season, but it will all depend on how 'Linsanity' is feeling hours before the game.

"It just depends of how he feels because he's still trying to get acclimated to what we're doing as well," Scott said. "So the more I can play him and the more he's out there, the better it is for him, but if that thing is real tender tomorrow, we'll probably have to sit him down."

Aside from Lin, Scott also hinted that Bryant and Nash could also sit out Sunday's match. Nash missed Thursday's game for precautionary reason, while Bryant is expect to get some DNPs in their remaining preseason games.

"I don't know yet," Scott said of playing Bryant and Nash. "A lot of it will depend on how they feel. Steve felt a lot better today and did everything except the last part of the scrimmage. He said he felt pretty good. He just wanted to get some treatment and get off his feet. Kobe did everything except for the last part of the scrimmage as well. He said he feels great."
