Cleveland Cavaliers Roster News: Kevin Love Excited To Experience Playoff Basketball With Cavs

Kevin Love is one of the best players in the world today, but the superstar power forward has yet to experience playoff basketball.

Love has impressive credentials after being named to the All-Star team three times and All-NBA second team twice, while also winning the gold medal for Team USA during the 2010 World Championship and 2012 London Olympics.

However, Love has yet to experience playoff basketball in his first six seasons in the league. But the wait is expected to be over in the upcoming season as he is set to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are strong favorites to win the title.

The Cavaliers are considered as the strongest team on paper at this point as they are bannered by their big three of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Love along with strong supporting cast led by Dion Waiters, Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Shawn Marion and Mike Miller.

But while his long wait will be over in the 2014-15 NBA season, Love, the fifth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, is not expecting things to be easy, admitting that he has a lot to learn from his teammates.

"I'm just looking forward to learning from the guys who have been there and done that before, LeBron included, and all the way through our entire lineup," Love said via USA Today. "There's a lot to be learned. I'm just going to try and be a sponge and absorb as much as possible. Stay grounded and have the humility that a lot of people have taught me. Continue to get better every day."

Love averaged 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game last season, but his stats are expected to take a hit now that he will be playing alongside James and Irving similar to what happened to Chris Bosh when he played alongside Wade and James, but the 26-year-old said that he is willing to make the sacrifice.

"I'd be lying to myself and everybody here if I was telling you I didn't have to sacrifice," Love added. "It's going to have to be an effort throughout the entire team to do what's best for the Cleveland Cavaliers. We don't know what that is really yet, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes for this team to win because at the end of the day, what we want is to win."
