Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2015 Fight: ‘Pacman’ Still Interested in Facing Rival in Super Showdown Next Year

Manny Pacquiao admitted that he still has a lot of plans after his upcoming fight against Chris Algieri - and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is still on his radar.

Pacquiao, who will defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight title against Algieri on November 22, told reporters that facing Mayweather in a super fight next year is still one of his goals before he retires from boxing.

"I do have one specific goal and that is to give the boxing fans the fight they have always asked for," Pacquiao said of the showdown with Mayweather via ESPN. "I want that fight too."

However, Pacquiao pointed out that the long-dreamed showdown between two of the best boxers of this generation will remain a dream if both parties will continue making demands, pointing out that both camps should be willing to do anything to make the fight happen.

"I believe good-faith negotiations could produce that fight," Pacquiao added. "But it is impossible to negotiate when you are the only one sitting at the table. Two fighters who want to fight each other have never been kept from fighting each other."

Bob Arum, whose Top Ranks Promotions handles Pacquiao's fights, also pointed out that the fight is impossible to make because Mayweather is not willing to face Pacquiao despite reports suggesting that the reigning pound-for-pound king is leaning towards taking the fight next year - probably in September 2015.

"As far as the Pacquiao fight is concerned with Mayweather, as much as a lot of people surrounding it would want it to happen, myself included and Manny included, Floyd is reluctant to fight Manny Pacquiao, period," Arum said. "If people don't see that by now, they are never going to see it."

Mayweather, who holds a perfect 47-0 record, said in a recent interview that he is not interested in working with Bob Arum again. And if the fight will happen next year, Mayweather wants it under Showtime PPV, but it is expected to be turned down by Pacquiao's camp because the Filipino is under contract with HBO.

Pacquiao recently said that retirement is not yet in sight after the Algieri bout, while Mayweather previously hinted that he might call it quits for good after two more fights in 2015.
