Charlotte Hornets Welcome Jeremy Lin; What Is The NBA Star’s Net Worth After Playing For L.A. Lakers?

NBA star Jeremy Lin, who has an estimated net worth of $15 million based on the data listed by The Richest, is now officially part of the Charlotte Hornets. However, his salary decreased significantly with what is now referred to as the third highest pay drop in the season.

To some, the downfall of his salary is bad news, but Lin appears to not feel regret over the changes and is pretty accepting of the pay drop, Crossmap has learned.

Most basketball insiders thought that he would choose the big guys in the market. Instead, the Harvard alum chose Michael Jordan's Hornets, 2 Paragraphs reported.

It wasn't because of the pay. Rather, Lin was looking for an opportunity to excel as a player and he thinks that the Hornets can help him with achieving his true NBA goal.

In 2012, Lin signed a $25 million worth of three-year contract with the Houston Rockets to receive $5 million and $5.2 million in his first two years and $14.8 million in his final year. This time Lin signed a two-year contract with the Hornets worth $ 4,374,255, with an annual average salary of $2,187,128, as per Spotrac.

For 2015-2016, he will have a base salary of $2,139,000. That is around $12 million lower compared to his 2014-2015, which is $14,898,938.

Lin comes to his new home with less expectations compared to when he started in Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers. Since New York Knicks, this is possibly the first time where he is in a situation with an expected offense and teammates that can help him succeed instead of limiting him, according to Sportige.

He positively contributed the last time he was with the Rockets and Lakers, but his mediocre performance wasn't really noticed.

Lin will be coming in as a point guard for this NBA season. This will give him the opportunity to be more aggressive, which is needed to make more scores.

Whether these changes will affect Jeremy Lin's net worth positively or negatively remains to be seen. Tune in for more updates.
