Nina Dobrev’s ‘TVD’ Season 7 COMEBACK Prompting Ian Somerhalder’s EXIT? Cast Wants Elena’s Friendliness, Hates Damon’s Diva Behavior [RUMORS]

Ex-couple Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are once again making headlines as rumors about the upcoming seventh season of "The Vampire Diaries" claimed Dobrev's comeback and Somerhalder's exit. According to the reports, Somerhalder's departure was brought by the actor's alleged "diva behavior."

Latest updates about "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 are getting more interesting as it involved the comeback and departure of two of the show's main characters, Elena and Damon. According to Australia Network News, the cast of the series wanted Nina Dobrev back while they were reportedly tired of Ian Somerhalder taking the spotlight.

Moreover, "The Vampire Diaries" cast have also surprisingly expressed their desire of firing Ian Somerhalder from the show and urging producers to do everything in their power to get Nina Dobrev back in action, Inquisitr noted. This major "TVD" cast shakeup was allegedly due to how Dobrev's 36-year-old ex-boyfriend handled her exit.

Even though Nina Dobrev has been missing-in-action in the current season of "The Vampire Diaries," the 26-year-old Bulgarian-Canadian actress is still very much alive and constantly dragged in the news about the hit CW show. And just recently, the crew and the cast of "TVD" reportedly miss Dobrev's presence in the show and prefer her company more than that of Ian Somerhalder. Several reports also detailed that the actor, who became a household name for playing the character of Damon Salvatore, is apparently having a "diva" attitude on set after his ex-girlfriend's unexpected departure.

"Nina Dobrev's friendliness was preferred to Ian Somerhalder's diva behavior on 'The Vampire Diaries' set," Celeb Dirty Laundry claimed. "Nina Dobrev is greatly missed by co-workers on TVD. Are Ian's co-stars tired of his self-important diva antics? According to reports, Somerhalder's love of the spotlight might be causing some friction, and without Dobrev's presence to keep Ian in check, it's becoming a problem."

Despite these rumors, Ian Somerhalder has remained positive about the new direction the show without Nina Dobrev. As a matter of fact, Somerhalder revealed that the show has been able to develop interestingly after Elena Gilbert's story has run its course.

"What we've just started shooting is such a departure (from what is expected of the show)," Somerhalder told Variety. "I just started shooting episode 10, which is a concept episode. The episode was really about Damon, but that's not why I think it was the best at all. The way the story was put together... every artisan from set to producers to wardrobe to everyone was just so on-point."

Somerhalder's sentiments were also echoed by co-star Paul Wesley, who plays Damon's brother Stephan. Wesley even pointed out that he liked the idea of their characters teaming up, thinking their partnership is something the show can really build on moving forward.

"They (Damon and Stefan) should be teaming up and fighting the negative outside forces," Wesley told Collider. "There's no room for them to be at odds with each other. There's just no room for either one of them to be the villain. I think people really enjoy it when the brothers are comparable to the guys on Supernatural: buddy up and fight bad guys!"

Meanwhile, as Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder remain positive in their outlook about the future of "The Vampire Diaries" in spite of the effects of Nina Dobrev's exit, creator Julie Plec does not seem to share their viewpoint. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Plec was open to more seasons but appeared less thrilled about prolonging the series too much further beyond its seventh season.
