Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Updates: New Phone To Have An LG Battery; Big Discounts For Note 7 Owners

With the whole Note 7 fiasco still hurting the Samsung company, reports of their next flagship phone the S8 has started the rumor mills. And Samsung definitely needs a big win with this one.

With their backs against the walls, here are some of the rumors about Samsung's latest attempt to make a resounding comeback from such a monumental blunder:

First of all is the announcement, the most likely date would be sometime in late February. This will give Samsung enough time to address their current battery woes as well as letting the heat cool down a bit from the Note 7 fiasco. Plus, the timeline is short enough to prevent other newcomers and competitors like the Google Pixel from stealing any more thunder from Samsung.

The hottest S8 leak to date is the inclusion of a 4k screen. This is just pure speculation and date back to Samsung rumors since the S6. But if the company manages to pull this off, then it could be the push they need for people to forget about the Note 7 incident.

One feasible way to do this is to put a more premium model with a 4k screen and a standard model that comes with QHD.

Another thing that Samsung is currently working on is better integration of their Samsung VR to the s8.

Another rumor making the rounds is that Samsung is looking for ways to make the curved edge the standard when it comes to their s8 line. This means that the s8 won't have an edge moniker to it anymore and a curved display will be the standard of the line.

The Samsung s8 is also rumored to use LG batteries in an obvious attempt to temper the public's fear about their phones. There is also a rumor running around that Samsung is looking for a compensation program that can make the s8 almost free for those who had the unfortunate luck of getting the Note 7.

Watch out for more S8 rumors as the months lead up to its announcements.
