‘Overwatch’ Updates: Head Designer Reveals Season 3 Will Finally Begin On December 1; Blizzard To Balance The Game.

Scott Mercer, who is the principal designer of "Overwatch," made fans really happy when he finally revealed when season 3 would begin. He also revealed the inner workings for season 3 to further balance the game in terms of skill ratings.

In a recent blog post, Mercer revealed that season 2 will end on November 24. Which finally ends fan's speculations on when a new season will begin. To add more good news to gamers, they won't have to wait very long, as season 3 will officially kick off on December 3. This is quite a surprise considering fans had to wait three weeks in between season one and season two.

Mercer was also quoted on their desire to make "Overwatch" matches more competitive and balanced; this is what he had to say regarding the matter:

"First and foremost, we always want to provide the fairest matches that we can. Fair matches of skill between the teams provide the greatest chance for you to have fun in 'Overwatch.' At the same time, we'd also like every new competitive season to feel like a fresh start."

But he went on to say that the Skill Tree won't reset from scratch. Instead, they are introducing a new way to evaluate your skill level when you start a new season.

"We're leaning more towards trying to keep things fair rather than giving everyone a fresh start. We're also going to initially tune your SR to be slightly lower to start. In turn, fewer players should start the season having their Skill Rating drastically drop despite having close to even wins and losses."

This seems like a good idea as most players will have a more competitive first part of the season and have more incentives to win.

"Overwatch" season 3 will definitely make the holiday season much merrier for gamers.
