Many fans await for the "No Game No Life" season 2, the supposed sequel to the successful "No Game No Life" anime aired in 2014. The anime is based on the novel written by Yu Kamiya and was one of the feature films that people remember as great and beautiful.
"No Game No Life" season 2 is therefore expected by fans but the film's producer Madhouse are mum on the expected production and release of the film's sequel. It must be remembered that the novel on which the "No Game No Life" animation film was based has sold millions of copies in Japan.
Such popularity creates a pressure on the movie world to reciprocate and produce what fans are craving for in an animation movie. The story line is great and can be easily expanded into a long and great series if the producers wanted to.
The story is about two Hikikomoris, Sora who is 18-years-old and 11-year-old Shiro, his younger stepsister. The two are members of an undefeated gamers group who are challenged to play by the god of games to a chess match.
In that game, they face the 16 ruling groups of the universe and are forced to defend their undefeated reputation. Their ultimate plan is to defeat the enemies and overpower the god of games.
Yu Kamiya has written additional volumes on the story after the "No Game No Life"' animation's release but there has been no move to turn the added stories into the sequel expected by fans. The 2014 anime was a big success despite some unfavorable comments on the quality of the film's adaptation.
Madhouse has been known to opt for not continuing with anime series that has had successes in the past. Taking too long to produce a "No Game No Life" season 2 might affect its popularity. Meanwhile, Anime fans are all waiting for word on its final production and release.
