'Five Nights At Freddy's 4' Creator Scott Cawthon Slams 'FNAF 5' Rumors; RPG Demo May Not Make It To Halloween

"Five Nights at Freddy's 4" creator Scott Cawthon slammed rumors, and confirmed that there will be no "Five Nights at Freddy's 5." Instead, he's working on a "FNAF World" role playing game, Kotaku learned.
The announcement was posted in the Steam community, today, Sept. 16. Cawthon wanted to keep the plans for the new game until Halloween, but more people got confused if there would be "Five Nights at Freddy's 5" because of some teasers and spreading rumors.
His post — once and for all — made it clear that the story has been completed. The Halloween update and the new game will no longer add to it.
He wanted to get the demo ready for Halloween. Unfortunately, it may not happen because its scope is larger compared to the other games in the "FNaF" series.
So yes, the new game is an RPG, and it will be called "FNAF World." Unlike the previous Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, it will not be horror.
Cawthon said he is already working on the characters — including classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions — and hopes to work on the enemy models by next week.
Fans of "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" and the prior installments, were already excited for the new game, even if they didn't know it was an RPG. It is unfortunate that the free demo may not be able to make it to Halloween, but the game developer promised that he will release it as soon as it is ready.
There is no release date yet, according to GameSpot, but it will be available in PC, Android and iOS platforms.
Meanwhile, "Five Nights at Freddy's 4," which was released in July 2015, will be receiving an update on Oct. 31. It will include challenge and chat menu and a couple of new contents.
"Five Nights at Freddy's" fans, are you excited for Cawthon's new RPG game? Stay tuned for more updates.
