Without any formal announcement on the features of the latest iPhone 7 2017 version, rumors are the only sources of information on what the new 2017 iPhone 7 can offer. There are reports that the changes on the features of the phone will be minimal and the rumors are likely to be true.

According to Know Your Mobile, word from Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities confirms that Apple is not keen on a major overhaul of the 2017 iPhone 7. On the a brigther note, they are probably eyeing to introduce new features on other upcoming iPhone models. One called iPhone 8, iPhone X or who knows what. The changes will be timed for Apple's 10th anniversary offers.

It is alleged that the 2017 iPhone will have some marked upgrades, like the expanded OLED display and smoothly curved edges. A glass display, home button and a fingerprint scanning system are also to feature in the upcoming iPhone models.

More reports are anticipating Apple's move to build bigger phones and it is expected that the display size of the 2017 model will be upped to 5.8 inches. This is but a normal trend since better OLED technology allows more sizes and shapes for mobile phones. A wider display face on the iPhone 8, similar to that of Xiaomi Mi Mix, might be what one can expect.

As per Know Your Mobile, KGI Securities Ming-chi Kuo predicts lower volume shipments by Apple in the first two quarters of 2017 due to weak demand from China due to absence of upgrades on the features of iPhone models. What Apple can do is to secure lower prices from its components suppliers and Kuo predicts the lowering of prices by Apple's main suppliers to come in the last quarter of 2016.

In the meantime, Apple is investing in OLED technology, knowing that it holds the key to the marketability of the iPhone series. Marked improvement is anticipated in next year's iPhone models.
