After releasing the iPhone 7 last September, Apple also announced to launch the Apple AirPods in October. But until now, it is nowhere to be seen.

Last month, Apple CEO Tim Cook said he expects the AirPods to start shipping in “the next weeks” to customers. However, new reports suggest that people can expect it to be available in January 2017, according to The Inquirer.

People are expecting to get their hands on this little white earphones from Apple. The price of $159 poked the buyers' interests to have this product under their Christmas tree. Well, people would just have to wait since Apple still doesn’t have a comment on this issue.

"The early response to AirPods has been incredible,” Apple stated last October. Apple also added that they don’t believe in shipping a product before its ready, and that they still need a little more time for it to become ready for their customers. This delay in shipping made some of the people remove them from their wish list as well.

A recent report by The Wall Street Journal stated that up until now Apple engineers are struggling with many difficulties. "A person familiar with Apple’s development” cited a microphone and Bluetooth audio sync issue. The person stated that the problem arose due to Apple’s effort to create a new era of wireless headphones. Since in a Bluetooth headset, only one earpiece is expected to receive transmitted signal from the phone and quickly syncs it to the other piece.

Apple wants to ensure that each piece of the AirPod is to receive an individual signal each from iPhones and MacBooks. This is to make sure to avoid distortion and to receive audio at the same time in each earpiece. As said in a previous Jobs & Hirethis suggests Apple’s attempt to get ahead of the technology and solve every Bluetooth headsets’ lasting problems.

People also wonder what would happen if the battery died and what if they lost the other piece. Apple is yet to answer these concerns.

The company currently lists Apple AirPods as “coming soon” on their website, so people would just have to wait.
