Consumer Alert: Cuisinart Food Processor Recall Lawsuits?
By Tiffany Armstrong | Dec 15, 2016 11:13 AM EST
The manufacturer of Cuisinart food processors should brace itself for consumer lawsuits and regulatory investigations. People who used Cuisinart food processors apparently got hurt after blades of the processors cracked.
USA Today reported that 69 people suffered from oral lacerations due after using Cuisinart food processors. The blades of the Cuisinart food processors reportedly disintegrated and got mixed with the food. People who ingested the food received cuts in the mouth and had tooth injuries because of the blades.
In the Cuisinart website, Conair Corp. said the recall was voluntarily blade. The issue affected the riveted blade of Cuisinart food processors. The company told consumers to stop using Cuisinart food processors because its riveted blade can break. Small metal pieces can be embedded in food, which may have caused the oral lacerations that some consumers experienced.
It is not immediately clear whether the incidents related to Cuisinart food processors will lead to lawsuits, but consumers are not happy with the incident. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission released a statement about the recall and advised consumers to cease from using Cuisinart food processors.
Jobs & Hire previously reported that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has a list of other products that will be recalled in November. It cannot be confirmed whether Cuisinart food processors was among the list.
The recall happened only after consumers reported that they bit into pieces of metals as a result of Cuisinart food processors breaking. If you are one of the consumers affected by the recall of Cuisinart food processors, make sure to contact Conair for instructions.
