Twitter’s Top Trending TV Shows Of 2016 Listed ‘Game Of Thrones’, ‘The Walking Dead’ And ‘Descendants Of The Sun’

The list showed 10 of the trending or most-talked about TV shows and other categories for the year 2016. Since some of the most-watched TV shows are expected to be included, fans may still be surprised by the result.

CinemaBlend provided the full list of the top trending TV shows on Twitter with a hashtag on, though there was no specific digit provided. "Game of Thrones" took the first spot, followed by "The Walking Dead" and "Grey's Anatomy." The TV series were expected to be on the spot since it is undeniably popular worldwide.

However, the first big surprise was the fourth entry from Asia. South Korea's blockbuster "Descendants of the Sun" took the fourth spot. The military, medical, comedy and romance drama premiered in February 2016 and was aired in different countries. The "Descendants of the Sun" TV show has received various awards in many categories.

The top 10 TV show list also includes "Masterchef Brasil", "Orange is the New Black", "Stranger Things", "Empire", "The Voice", and "Big Brother Brasil".

According to the Entertainment Weekly, the list does not only contain trending TV shows. Movies, artists, and other topics were also unveiled.

"Star Wars" took the first spot in the top trending movies while "Oscars" trended first in the top trending award shows. "Exo" is the top trending artist while "Rio2016" is the top trending Twitter topics.
