Department of Vehicles in San Francisco Stops The Testing of Uber Self Driving Cars For A While

On Wednesday, Uber start its testing of self-driving cars in San Francisco. However on the same day, several issues were recorded with these cars regarding traffic light. The Department of Vehicles in San Francisco orders the company to stop its operation for a while.

Uber cars are not the same with the regular taxi because it does not offer recent rates. But the problem is, drivers are not earning enough money in the cities because of the price of the gas, a report from Inquisitr.

Uber have a solution so that there's no need for a driver, testing the self-driving cars in San Francisco. Uber promised that self-driving cars were accompanied by human so that there's a backup if something goes wrong. But then, something really went wrong.

According to some reports, self-driving cars are not following traffic light rules, like the red light. One of the car in the street of San Francisco continues through the intersection even though the red light is on. In the footage that was recovered, the car is said to be Volvo SC90 SUV. Another incident from Annie Gaus (Twitter user), shares that one of the Uber's self-driving car almost hit the car where she was in on the intersection even if the red light was also on.

One of the Advisor and Shareholder of Uber - Bradley Tusk - shared on TechCrunch that often, self-driving cars get a little bit more excited since it is an autonomous vehicle even though there's a human inside it. But the Department of Vehicles stated on Wednesday afternoon that Uber's self-driving cars may probably be suspended for a while in streets of San Francisco until they gain the permit that they need.

In another report from Jobs & Hire, Uber has also another plan to develop "flying cars" within the decade. In the future these flying cars will be named as "Elevate."
