'Assassin’s Creed Empire' Release Date, Latest News & Update: Game To Be Made Available On 2017; Will Be Different From Previous Installments?

Fans will be disappointed to know that the latest installment of Ubisoft's popular game, "Assassin's Creed Empire" will be available in 2017 and not in 2016. But the fans will be in for a treat as the new installment will be different in terms of gameplay, game environment, and even game story.

According to Digital Spy, it seems like Ubisoft will give the series a rest, following the disaster of "Assassin's Creed Unity", which affected the sales performance of the game that followed, "Assassin's Creed Syndicate." Syndicate recorded the worst one-week sales of any major "Assassin's Creed" game.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said during the company's earnings call in September that they "can't say much about" the release date of "Assassin's Creed Empire." He did say that they "are working hard on this game, and it will be launched when ready."

"Assassin's Creed Empire" is rumored to be set in ancient Egypt, where the protagonist is an ex-slave who barely speaks. The game is also said to be inspired by "The Witcher" and will have noticeable differences from the other installments.

Ubisoft's latest installment is said to have a more free combat system and a more colorful game world. With the setting being in ancient Egypt, the developers of "Assassin's Creed Empire" had more freedom in making the game, without worrying too much about historical accuracy.

"Assassin's Creed Empire" will also have a more free-flowing narrative and allow the players to tell their own story. In an interview with Le Monde, Ubisoft's Chief Creative Officer Serge Hascoët said that in "Assassin's Creed," there will be less narration in the game. "What I ask is that players can express themselves sufficiently interesting way for them to want to share it with other players," he said. "Nobody wants to share a nice cutscene."

He also said that developers of "Assassin's Creed Empire" have created a system in which every action a player makes can affect the entire game world. Hascoët said that if a player does something in the game, it can change the storyline of the world. It technically allows players to create their own story.
