When deciding what career you want to pursue, it is imperative that you know yourself, and what kind of job suits your personality. There are career assessment tests, says Monster, that will help you decide whether you are a "mediator," "defender" or an ISTJ.

Knowing yourself is vital before a job search. If you don't know what you want, after all, finding the right job is the least of your worries.

Here are some personality and skill set tests that will help you decide what career is right for you. And best of all - they are free to do and do not take too much time, and you might even actually enjoy them.

Myers-Briggs

This is a very popular test and results in a four letter answer that defines you: example INFP or ESFJ. It is supposed to identify your basic preferences for each of the four dichotomies (like introvert or extrovert). While it is true that you'll have to pay $50 (only) to take the real test, but there are plenty of imitators on the Internet.

Big Five

Big Five personality test divides people into five personality traits: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism. This test can not only tell you what kind of job you will enjoy but also help you identify learning styles. In addition, this test is light hearted and fun to take - there are some questions that might actually make you laugh out loud!
